Brief

Vinylnet approached Chameleon requiring a unique approach to promoting and selling their extensive collection of used vinyl to collectors worldwide. Their business consists of multiple vinyl contributors in separate locations, each of whom required their own access to the website content management system in order to manage their own vinyl stock.

Each of the contributors also sell their stock via numerous other outlets such as ebay, shops, boot sales etc etc and so actual availability of items listed on the site could change at any time. For this reason vinylnet required an initial "request availability" shopping basket system whereby web users could search for items which 'may' still be stock items.

Having a customer base worldwide and in particular many collectors of second hand vinyl in Japan, Vinylnet required multi lingual and multi currency for the best  sales performance.

Solution

Chameleon have successfully built a very bespoke system for Vinylnet meeting their exacting specification. The database driven website offers multi lingual and multi currency support and features a unique availability request, status update and payment module.

Specialist data import scripts have been developed to allow bulk updates of the core database stock list alongside a multi level login content management system.
